Privacy Policy for Present
Effective Date: March 25, 2026
Your privacy is the core of Present. This Privacy Policy explains how I, David Perelman, handle your data. My philosophy is simple: Your data belongs to you, and I have no interest in seeing it.
1. No Data Collection
Present is designed as a “no-server” application.
- No Personal Information: I do not collect, store, or have access to any personal data you enter into the App.
- No Analytics: I do not use any third-party analytics tools (like Firebase or Mixpanel) to track your behavior, location, or usage habits.
- No Accounts: You are not required to create an account or provide an email address to use the App.
2. Data Storage & Security
Since I do not own any servers, your data is stored exclusively using Apple’s secure infrastructure:
- Local Storage: Your entries and settings are stored locally on your device’s encrypted file system.
- iCloud Sync: If you enable iCloud, your data is synced across your devices using Apple’s CloudKit. This data is stored in your private iCloud database. I cannot access this database; only you can.
3. In-App Purchases (Premium Version)
Present offers a Premium version via In-App Purchases.
- All financial transactions are handled entirely by the Apple App Store.
- I do not see or store your credit card information, billing address, or real name.
- Apple provides me with an anonymous “receipt” to confirm your purchase status so the App can unlock Premium features for you.
4. Biometric Authentication (Face ID / Touch ID)
If you choose to secure Present using Face ID or Touch ID, the authentication process is handled by the iOS operating system. The App never sees or stores your biometric data; it only receives a “success” notification from the system to grant you access.
5. Third-Party Services
The App utilizes standard Apple services to function. Please refer to Apple’s Privacy Policy for details on how they handle data for:
- iCloud (Syncing and Backup)
- App Store (Purchases and Distribution)
6. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Because I do not store your data on my own servers, I cannot “delete” or “export” your data for you. You have full control:
- To delete your data: Delete individual entries within the App, or delete the App itself from your device.
- To stop syncing: Disable iCloud permissions for Present in your device’s System Settings.
7. Changes to This Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Effective Date.”
